Srinagar, May 28, KNT: Locals Thursday alleged that an owner of a poultry farm sells chickens at exorbitant rates while authorities don’t take any action despite being requested to do so.

Locals from different villages of Sumbal Division of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district including Asham, Safapora, Inderkoot, Kondabal, Markundal, Waskoot told news agency KNT that the owner of a poultry farm located at Nani Nara Sumbal is flouting all the rules and sells chickens to local consumers and shopkeepers at Rs 200 per kg.

“A shopkeeper who purchases chicken for Rs 200 per kg at the Poultry Farm adds his profit while selling the same chicken to consumers. There is complete anarchy in the Division. No concerned official takes the cognizance of complaints filed by common people,” they said.

The locals demanded stern action under law against the owner of the poultry farm.

Tehsildar Sumbal Firdous Ahmed told KNT that he will send a team to ascertain the facts. “You have brought this into my notice, I will send a team there to check facts without any delay,” he added. (KNT)
