Anantnag, June 16, KNT: A middle aged mother along with her 12 year old daughter drowned in the river Jehlum late Tuesday afternoon.
Sources told news agency KNT that that 12 year old Nighat was taking bath on the river bank when suddenly she slipped in went deep into the waters. Her mother identified as Saleema tried to save her, but also drowned.
The incident attracted the attention of locals while some of them tried to locate here but failed in their endeavor.
Sources said that an SDRF team too rushed to spot and the rescue operation was in progress till the filing of this story. The incident occurred near Marhama area Sangam Anantnag.
Both are residents of Jafarpora Marhama. (KNT)
