Srinagar, Mar 22, KNT: Jammu Kashmir Police Monday made a fervent appeal to parents to take care of their children and don’t let them join militant ranks.

“I appeal to those parents whose sons have joined militancy to persuade their children to shun path of militancy. Media can play an important role in this regard. We welcome those youth with open heart who are ready to shun militancy,” Inspector General of Police for Kashmir Zone said on Monday.

Kumar was addressing a press conference that was called to divulge information about the Manihal Shopian encounter in which 4 militants were killed.

IGP said those youth who have joined militancy have two options. “Either they can surrender before getting trapped or they can surrender during an encounter. We will receive them with open arms and we will always welcome those who want to shun path of violence,” Kumar as per news agency KNT said.

He said progress and prosperity lies in peaceful atmosphere. “We wish people earn their livelihood and more and more tourists visit Kashmir Valley. We will ensure schools and colleges function normally round the year but it is possible only in peaceful environment,” he said. (KNT)
