Srinagar, Oct 2, KNT: 151st Gandhi Jayanti Celebration was organized here at Sanat Ghar Bemina Srinagar. The function was presided over by Baseer Ahmad Khan, Advisor to Lt. Governor.
The event was also attended by Dr.HinaShafiBhat, Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB, Parvez Qadri Dy. Mayor SMC and officers from Industries & Commerce Department. While highlighting the ideology of Gandhiji, Shri Khan emphasized upon the officers to work for upliftment of downtrodden sections of society. Dr.Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chariperson J&K KVIB highlighted the message of Ahinsa and Swadeshi of Bapu. Referring to Swadeshi movement championed by Bapu, she said that Hon’ble Prime Minister has launched the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, which aims at making this country self-sustaining and self-generating. Earlier, Baseer Ahmad Khan in presence of Vice Chairperson KVIB and other officers unveiled the sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi at in the office Complex SanatGhar Desi Charkha was also installed at the occasion. (KNT)
