Dead body of 28 year old missing girl fished out from the river Jehlum

Pampore, Feb 18, KNT: The dead body of a young girl who had gone missing last month has been fished out from the River Jehlum in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Rukhsana Ali, daughter of Ali Muhammad Bhat, a resident of Shar Shali, Khrew area of Pampore had gone missing on 18 January last month after she ventured out from her home.

Family had lodged a missing report at police post Khrew while police had been looking for her since then.

Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that some people spotted the dead body near Khankahbagh Pampore in the river Jehlum and informed the police.

After identification, it turned out the body the same missing girl.

A police official confirmed the recovery of the dead body of missing girl. He said a case has been registered and investigation set into motion.

The victim was 28 years old. (KNT)
