Kupwara, May 1, KNT: Government has dismissed a school teacher in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Government has said that the teacher has been terminated in the interest of security of the state.

General Administration Department has issued an order informing that a teacher identified as Idrees Jan of Government Middle School Kralpora, Kupwara has been dismissed from the government service.

“Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that the activities of Idrees Jan, Teacher, Government Middle School, Kralpora, Kupwara are such as to warrant his dismissal from service,” the order as per KNT reads.

The order further reads that the Lieutenant Governor is satisfied that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an inquiry in the case of Idrees Jan, Teacher, Government Middle School, Kralpora, Kupwara.

“Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Idrees Jan, Teacher, Government Middle School, Kralpora, Kupwara from service, with immediate effect.”

Meanwhile, former President of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani while terming the dismissal of Idrees Jan as ambiguous asked Government to re-consider its decision.

“Dismissal of ldrees Ahmad, a teacher from Kupwara, from govt service remains ambiguous until the facts are made public and or subjected to the judicial system for legal proceedings. Sudden and random dismissal of a government employee this way causes mental agony to the employees and society in general. The decision needs a rethink,” Wani said. (KNT)
