Budgam, May 1, KNT: Days after raising an illegal brick kiln to ground, district administration Budgam here in Central Kashmir stopped the illegal construction of a proposed brick kiln, seized a JCB and registered a formal case against a mob that assaulted a government employee.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after receiving information about a brick kiln being constructed illegally in Mulshula area of Beerwah, a team lead by Tehsildar Beerwah Haroon Rashid rushed to spot to ascertain the facts.
A large number of people mostly females confronted the governement team and even resorting to stone-pelting. Witnesses said that miscreants attacked the officials with sticks.
“I took the concerned SHO along and the information we had received was correct. A JCB was used to cut the soil illegally. The driver fled away while a mob emerged there and resisted our move. We somehow, managed to seize the JCB, but the mob meanwhile, assaulted a governemnt employee during the melee,” Tehsildar Beerwah said.
He said that a formal case has been registered against the intending brick kiln owner, miscreants and the land owner.
“What has happened to people and why they are supporting illegal consturction. People ought to differentiate between good and bad,” Tehsildar Haroon Rasheed told KNT.
When contacted, a police official confirmed that an FIR vide number 54/21 under section 147,148, 336, 332,353 and 21 Brick Kiln Act 2010 has been registed against the accused. (KNT)
